If
there is magic on this planet, it is contained in water.
(Loren Eiseley USA)
Thousands
have lived without love, not one without water.
(W.H. Auden U.K)
According to the International Journal of Water
Resources Development;
Earth is the only planet in the solar system where liquid water makes life possible. The other planets
are either too hot (like Venus) or too cold (like Mars).
Another word for water is AQUA (H2O)
Water
refers to a chemical substance consisting of two hydrogen atoms bound
to the central oxygen atom via a covalent bond.
The scientific and biological definition of water;
A substance composed of the chemical elements hydrogen and oxygen and existing in gaseous, liquid and solid states. It is one of the most plentiful and essential compounds. A tasteless and odourless liquid at room temperature, it has the ability to dissolve many substances.
And we have created from water every living thing. Will they not then believe?
(Quran Al-Anbiya)
According to healthline.com (Sanfrancisco USA); Water makes up a majority of your body weight and is involved in many important functions, for instance, flushing out waste from your body, regulating body temperature and helping your brain function.
You get most of your water from drinking beverages, but food also contributes a small amount to your daily water intake.
And it is he who has let free the two seas (kinds of water): this is palatable and sweet, and that is salted and bitter; and he has set a barrier between them.
(Quran- Surah Al-Furqan, chapter 25, verse 53)
For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour out my spirit on your offspring, and my blessing on your desendents.
(Bible-Isaiah 44:3)
Water in many ways improves your well-being:
1) Water helps create saliva;
Saliva also includes small amounts of electrolytes, mucus and enzymes. It´s essential for breaking down solid food and keeping your mouth healthy. If your mouth is dry in spite of increasing your water intake then see your doctor.
2) Water regulates your body temperature;
Your body loses water through sweat during physical activity and in hot environments. Your sweat keeps your body cool but your body temperature will rise if you don´t replenish the water you lose.
Your body loses electrolytes and plasma when it´s dehydrated. If you are sweating more than usual, make sure you drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration.
3) Water protects your tissues, spinal cord and joints;
It helps lubricate and cushion your joints, spinal cord and tissues. This will help you enjoy physical activity and lessen the discomfort caused by conditions like arthritis.
4)Water helps excrete waste through perspiration, urination and defection;
Your body uses water to sweat, urinate and have bowel movements. Sweat regulates body temperature when you are exercising or in warm temperatures. You need water to fill up the lost fluid from sweat. You also need enough water in your system to have a healthy stool and avoid constipation.Your kidneys are also important for filtering out waste through urination. Adequate water intake helps your kidneys work more efficiently and helps to prevent kidney stones.
5) Water helps maximize physical performance;
Drinking plenty of water during physical activity is essential. Athletes may perspire up to 6 to 10 percent of body weight during physical activity. Hydration also affects your strength, power and endurance. Negative effects of exercise in the heat without enough water can include serious medical conditions, like decreased blood pressure and hyperthermia. Extreme dehydration can cause seizures and even death.
6) Water helps prevent constipation;
Eating fibre isn´t the only way to prevent constipation. It is also important to maintain your water intake so your bowel movements contain enough water. If you don´t consume enough water, magnesium and fibre, you may be more likely to experience constipation. If you are already constipated, you may find that drinking carbonated water as well as plain water can help ease your symptoms.
7) Water aids in digestion;
Experts confirm drinking water before, during and after a meal will help your body break down the food you eat more easily. This will help you digest food more effectively and get the most out of your meals. Research shows the body adapts to changes in the consistency of food and stomach contents, whether more solid or more liquid.
8) Water helps with nutrient absorption;
In addition to helping with food breakdown, water also helps dissolve vitamins, minerals and other nutrients from your food. It then delivers these vitamin components to the rest of your body for use.
9)Water helps you lose weight;
Studies have linked body fat and weight loss with drinking water in both overweight girls and women. Drinking more water while dieting and exercising may just help you lose extra pounds.
10) Water improves blood oxygen circulation;
Water carries helpful nutrients and oxygen to your entire body. Reaching your daily water intake will improve your circulation and have a positive impact on your overall health.
11) Water helps fight off illness;
Drinking enough water can help prevent certain medical conditions. These include;
a) Constipation b) Kidney stones c) Exercise-induced asthma d) Urinary tract infection e) Hypertension
12) Water helps boost energy;
Drinking water may activate your metabolism. A boost in metabolism has been associated with a positive impact on the energy level. One study found that drinking 500 millilitres of water boosted the metabolic rate by 30 percent in both men and women. These effects appeared to last over an hour.
13) Water helps in cognitive function;Proper hydration is key to staying in tip-top cognitive shape. Research indicates that not drinking enough water can negatively impact your focus, alertness and short-term memory.
14) Water helps improve mood;
Not getting enough water can also affect your mood. Dehydration may result in fatigue and confusion as well as anxiety.
15) Water helps keep skin bright;
Adequate water intake will help keep your skin hydrated and may promote collagen production.
16) Water prevents overall dehydration;
Dehydration is the result of your body not having enough water. It is imperative to so many bodily functions, dehydration can be very dangerous.Severe dehydration can result in a number of severe complications, including;
a) Swelling in your brain b) Kidney failure c) Seizures
Make sure you drink enough water to make up for what´s lost through sweat, urination and bowel movements to avoid dehydration.
Being attentive to the amount of water you drink each day is important for optimal health. Most people drink when they are thirsty, which helps regulate daily water intake.
a) about 15.5 cups of water (125 ounces) each day for men.
b) about 11.5 cups (91 ounces) daily for women.
Other ways to assess hydration include your thirst and the colour of your urine. Feeling thirsty indicates your body is not receiving adequate hydration. Urine that is dark or coloured indicates dehydration. Pale or non-coloured urine typically indicates proper hydration.
The
bottom line is that water is important to nearly every part of your
body. Your daily recommended intake of water helps you maintain your
current state of being but also may improve your overall health.
The importance of hydration for your heart;
According to the Heart and Vascular Institute (UPMC/health beat), you must keep your body hydrated. Proper hydration is not only good for your brain, your mood, and your body weight, but it´s also essential for your heart.
A hydrated heart is able to pump blood more easily, allowing the muscles in your body to work even better.
What you need to know is dehydration causes strain on your heart. The amount of blood circulating through your body, or blood volume, decreases when you are dehydrated. To compensate, your heart beats faster, increasing your heart rate and causing you to feel palpitations.
Also, your blood retains more sodium, making it tougher for it to circulate through your body.
(Bible-Proverbs 25:25)
So how much water should you drink to stay hydrated? It really depends on how much your body needs. Some situations where you should drink more water include for example;
a) If you are exercising or doing other physical activities.
b) If you have certain medical conditions, such as diabetes or heart disease.
c) If you are showing signs of dehydration, such as dizziness or weakness.
Please also keep in mind that certain medical conditions (such as heart failure) may require varying hydration strategies and consult
with your physician as required.

AntwortenLöschenEven for most of kidney issues, with or without medication, the nephrologist recommends increase in water intake. One might think that kidneys clean blood and make urine, but they are also involved in painkiller meds cleansing so few people with kidney complications cannot afford to take them.
Water also helps water soluble vitamins (B & C) to just pass out if in excess so that does not cause hypervitamin problems, whereas for fat soluble vitamins A,D,E & K, accumulation can cause serious difficulties.
