Do you know how important your eyes are?

Love your eyes, care your eyes. Protect your eyes because they are precious.     (thebrandboy.com)

Imagine your existence without eyes. Eye safety first, not the job

Rest your eyes and get enough sleep!

Avoid smoking : Smoking can contribute to blindness!

 Create eye-friendly surroundings

 Eyes are most important thing in your body- protect them!

 No adjective can define your eyes

EYES ARE PRICELESS, EYE PROTECTION IS CHEAP                                                         (healthslogans.com)

AVOID RUBBING YOUR EYES BECAUSE YOU CAN DAMAGE THEM IF YOU RUB TOO HARD OR TOO OFTEN!

                         (healthline.com)

 There are several different health conditions that can cause you to rub your eyes. These include:

Conjunctivitis or pink eye is a common infection that makes your eye itch.You usually get it from bacteria or a virus on your fingers that is transmitted when you touch your eye. The infection often causes your eye to turn pink or red.

Another common symtom is yellow or clear liquid on your lashes or in the corners of your eyes. This infection doesn't usually cause pain, but you may have an itching feeling that causes you to rub your eyes.Conjunctivitis is highly contagious and it's spread easily by coming into contact with someone who is infected.

Allergies; Some people who have allergies experience itchy eyes, causing them to rub their eyes. One study found that rubbing your eyes when exposed to an allergen causes you to feel the need to rub them more.

Other symtoms that go along with allergies are sneezing, watery eyes and a stuffy nose. Some people have seasonal allergies due to what is growing outside. Others can be allergic to food, insect sting or medications.

Some additional causes include:

1. Blepharitis is caused when the eyelids are inflamed because oil glands are clogged. Some of the symtoms might include itchy or swollen eyes and crusted eyelashes.

2. Eyestrain is caused when your eyes are tired after looking really hard at something. This can cause burning or itching.

3. Dry eyes are caused when your eyes aren't producing enough  tears. This can cause your eye to feel itchy.

The common cold and sinusitis can also make your eyes itch, as can wearing contact lenses or having a foreign object in your eyes.

You do cause injury by rubbing your eyes; Rubbing frequently might damage the lens of your eye or the cornea. This could result in vision impairment or an infection that needs medical attention. You should call your doctor right away if you experience:

: eye pain

: light sensitivity

: reduced vision

: blurry vision

: redness or inflammation

: headache

: nausea

: fatigue

These could be symtoms of eye damage and should be evaluated right away!

Tips to stop rubbing your eyes:

 The best way to stop rubbing your eyes is to treat the underlying cause that is making them itch. Teatment can include:

a) Over the-counter medication; Saline or eye drops can cleanse your eyes and flush out any dirt that might be causing irritation.

b) Prescription medication; A doctor will have to prescribe medicine to treat conjunctivitis. You might also need medication or shots if you have allergies.

You can also apply a warm compress to your eyes to relieve irritation.

Try these tips if you're rubbing your eyes as a habit, instead of as a reaction to a symtom:

 1) Become aware of what you are doing with your hands. Resist the urge to rub your eyes.

2) Wear gloves or mittens when you are finding it hard to keep your fingers from your face. Having something covering your fingers will make the rubbing difficult.

3) Find something else to do with your hands. You could aqueeze a stressball or rub a smooth rock.

See your doctor if you're had prolonged symtoms of dry eyes, including red, irritated, tired or painful eyes. Your doctor can take steps to determine what's bothering your eyes or refer you to a specialist.

Be sure to keep your hands clean. This will help keep germs from spreading to your face and your eyes.

  Rest for your eyes:

 Closing your eyes for just a few minutes is helpful. You can do this once an hour or many times when you're hard at work.

 And if your job involves sitting in front of a computer or reading, closing your eyes can be refreshing. As simple as it sounds, this exercise can protect your eyes from over exertion or fatigue.

 Full body exercise for vision:

 Exercising for atleast 20 minutes a day is healthy for your entire body, including your eyes. Improved blood circulation is beneficial to the small blood vessels in the eyes as it removes harmful substances that may have been deposited. Exercise doesn't have to be intense. In fact, a brisk walk is enough. (VersantHealth.com)

 Eyes only- Vision to Sight

Your eyesight is one of your most important senses: 80% of what we perceive comes through our sense of sight.

 By protecting your eyes, you will reduce the odds of blindness and vision loss while also staying on top of any developing eye diseases such as cateracts and glaucoma.

(medicaleyecenter.com)

The parts of the brain and the eye together allow you to see and completes your vision. For instance, the lens, retina and optic nerve and other parts of your eyes make you change light and electrical signals into images.

According to (heartland-eye); Eyesight is something that takes place in the eye. People wear glases or contact lenses in order to improve eyesight or clarity of what they see. ... In contrast to eyesight, vision takes place in the brain. The brain receives the clear image and then vision is the process of understanding and analyzing the image.

Ten best foods for eye health  (According to American Optometric Association) ;

1.) Fish;  Many fish are rich sources of omega-3 fatty acids for example tuna, salmon, trout, mackerel, sardines, anchovies and herring.

   Some studies have found that fish oil can reverse dry eye caused by spending too much time on a computer.

 2.) Nuts and legumes; Nuts are also rich in omega-3 fatty acids and contains a high level of vitamin E, which can protect the eye from age-related damage.

Nuts and legumes that are good for eye health include: walnuts, Brazil nuts, cashews, peanuts and lentils.

 3.) Seeds; Seeds are high in omega-3s and are rich source of vitamin E.

Seeds high in omega 3 include:chia seeds, flax seeds and hemp seeds.

4.) Citrus fruits; Citrus fruits are rich in vitamin C is an antioxidant that is recommended by the (AOA)to fight age-related eye damage.

Vitamin C - rich citrus fruits include; lemons, oranges and grapefruits.

 5.) Leafy green vegetables; Leafy green vegetables are rich in both lutein and zeaxanthin and are also a good source of eye-friendly vitamin C.

 Well-known leafy greens include: spinach, kale and collards.

 6.) Carrots; Carrots are rich in both Vitamin A and beta carotene. The orange color of carrot comes from beta carotene. Moreover, vitamin A plays an essential role in vision.

It is a component of a protein called rhodopsin, which helps the retina to absorb light. The body needs beta carotene to make vitamin A.

7.) Sweet potatoes; Sweet potatoes are rich in beta carotene.

 They are also a good source of the antioxidant vitamin E.

8.) Beef; Beef is rich in zinc, which has been linked to better long-term eye health. Zinc can help delay age-related sight loss and macular degeneration. Furthermore, the eye itself contains high levels of zinc, particularly in the retina and the vascular tissue surrounding the retina.

 Beef contains very high levels of zinc compared to other meats which have zinc but at lower levels than beef.

9.) Eggs; Eggs are excellent source of lutein and zeaxanthin, which can reduce the risk of age-related sight loss..

Eggs are also good sources of vitamins C and E and zinc.

10.) Water; Water a fluid essential to life is also vital to eye health.

 Drinking plenty of water with regular intervals can prevent dehydration, which may reduce the symptoms of dry eyes.

   Eating a varied diet that includes lots of fruits, vegetables, and lean proteins is enough to ensure most people get the right nutrients for eye health.

 Eating a banana daily is like to boost eye health and prevent vision-related diseases.

 Researchers have found that bananas have carotenoid - compound that turn fruits and vegetables red, orange or yellow and are converted into vitamin A, important precursors for eye health - in the liver.  (hindustantimes.com)

Other important vitamins for good eyesight and vision are for instance vitamin C and vitamin E because they are antioxidant agents against cataracts and macular degeneration! They are extremely important for health reasons.

10 ways to improve your eyesight (healthline.com)

 Getting regular eye check-ups and preventing injuries or illnesses that could harm your vision is one of many ways you can improve your eyesight.

 1.)  Get enough key vitamins and minerals;

Vitamins A, C, and E, as well as the mineral zinc, contains antioxidants that can help prevent macular degeneration. It's a condition in which the macula - the part of the eye that controls central vision - deteriorates.

Food sources for these important nutrients include a variety of colourful vegetables and fruits, such as: Carrots, red peppers, broccoli, spinach, strawberries, sweet potato and citrus. Foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids, such as salmon and flaxseed, are also recommended for better eye health.

2.) Don't forget the carotenoids;

A few nutrients are also keys to improving eyesight. Among them are lutein and zeaxanthin, which are carotenoids found in the retina. You can also find them in leafy green vegetables, broccoli, zucchini and eggs. Lutein and zeaxanthin can also be taken in supplement form.

 These carotenoids help protect the macula by improving pigment density in that part of the eye, and absorbing ultraviolet and blue light.

3.) Stay fit;

Yes, exercise and maintaining a healthy weight can help your eyes, not just your waistline. Type 2 diabetes, which is more common in people who are overweight or obese, can cause damage to the tiny blood vessels in the eyes.

This condition is called diabetic retinopathy. Too much sugar circulating in your bloodstream injures the delicate walls of your arteries. Diabetic retinopathy causes the very small arteries in your retina - the light - sensitive back part of the eye - to leak blood and fluid into the eye, harming your vision.

Getting your blood sugar levels checked regularly and staying fit and trim can lower your odds of developing type 2 diabetes and its many complications.

4.) Manage chronic conditions:

Diabetes is't the only disease that can affect your vision. Other conditions, such as high blood pressure and multiple sclerosis, can affect your eyesight. These conditions are linked to chronic inflammation, which can harm your health from head to toe.

Inflammation of the optic nerve, for example can cause pain and even complete vision loss. While a disease such as multiple sclerosis can't be prevented, you can try to manage it with healthy habits and medications. High blood pressure can be effectively treated with a heart - healthy diet, exercise and antihypertensive medications.

5.) Wear protective eyewear;

Whether you're playing racquetball, working in your garage, or doing a science experiment in school, it's vital that you protect your eyes with appropriate eyewear.

Tough, protective eyewear is essential if there is a risk of chemicals, sharp objects, or materials such as wood shaving, metal shards, or even a stray elbow during a basketball game, entering your eye.

 Many protective goggles are made with a type of polycarbonate, which is about 10 times tougher than other forms of plastic.

6.) That includes sunglasses; Sunglasses aren't just for looking cool. Wearing shades is one of the most important steps you can take when it comes to improving your eyesight. You want sunglasses that block out 99 to 100 percent of UVA and UVB radiation from sunlight.

Sunglasses help protect your eyes from conditions that stem from eye damage. These include cataracts, macular degeneration, and pterygium - a growth of tissue over the white part of the eye. Pterygiums can lead to astigmatism, which can cause blurred vision. Wearing a wide-brimmed hat can also help protect your eyes from sun damage.

7.) Follow the 20-20-20 rule;

Your eyes work hard during the day and need a break now and then. The strain can be especially intense if you work at a computer for long stretches at a time. To ease the strain follow the 20-20-20 rule.

That means every 20 minutes, you should stop staring at your computer and look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds.

8.) Quit smoking; You know smoking is bad for your lungs and your heart, not to mention your hair, skin, teeth, and just about every other body part. That includes your eyes, too. Smoking dramatically raises your risk of developing cataracts and age-related macular degeneration.

Fortunately, your eyes, lungs, heart, and other body parts can start to recover from years of tobacco-induced harm within the first hours of quitting. And the longer you can avoid cigarettes, the more your blood vessels will benefit and inflammation will ease off throughout your eyes and the rest of you.

9.) Learn your family's eye health history;

 Some eye conditions are hereditary, so being aware of eye conditions that your parents or grandparents had can help you take precautions.

Hereditary conditions include: Glaucoma, retinal degeneration, age-related macular degeneration and optic atrophy.Understanding your family history can help you take early precautions.

 10.) Keep your hands and lenses clean;

Your eyes are especially vulnerable to germs and infections. Even things that just irritate your eyes can affect your vision. For those reasons, you should always wash your hands before touching your eyes or handling your contact lenses.

It's also important to wash your hands and disinfect your contact lenses as instructed. You should also replace your contact lenses as advised by the manufacturer or your doctor. Germs in your contact lenses can lead to bacterial infections of the eye.

The bottom line is living a healthier lifestyle and protecting your eyes from the sun and foreign objects can't protect against every eye condition. But they can all lower your odds of developing a problem that could hurt your vision.

 PROTAN COLOR BLINDNESS:

Protan color blindness is a type of color vision deficiency that occurs when the red-sensing pigments of the eyes are either missing or dysfunctional. There are two types of protan color blindness; Protanomaly and protanopia.

Protanomaly is the mild form of red-green color blindness, while protanopia is the more severe form. Even if you have been diagnosed with protan color blindness, small changes to your daily routine can help you live a normal life.

When it lighted all around them, Allah took away their light and left them in utter darkness, so they could not see. Deaf, dumb and blind - so they will not return( to the right path). (Quran; Surah Baqra Verse 17, 18)

Therefore speak I to them in parables; because seeing, they see not, and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand. (BIBLE Matthew 13:13)

 THE WORST FOOD FOR YOUR EYES

What not to eat for good eyesight (webeyecare.com)

 It's essential to know what foods to avoid if you want to keep your eyesight as sharp as possible.

 SUGAR; Sugar is probably the worst food for eyesight. It's not an exaggeration to say that the more sugar you consume, the worst your eyesight will become over time.

 MARGARINE AND VEGETABLE OILS; The chemicals in these man-made products can lead to narrowing of blood vessels, a natural enemy of good eyesight.

  FRIED FOODS AND HIGHLY-PROCESSED FOODS; The more saturated fat in foods, the more these foods work to constrict the blood vessels. Avoid food like lunch meat, processed meat, crackers and cookies.

SWEET DRINKS; These products not only contain sugar, but often high-fructose corn syrup, which can lead to high blood pressure and the narrowing of the capillaries that lead to the eyes.

So people who notice changes in their vision should schedule a comprehensive eye exam with an optometrist or ophthalmologist. Early treatment for eye health problems can prevent them from getting worse.

  People with vision problems or those with very restrictive diets should talk to an eye health provider about the right food to eat.

 According to a US health article (reuters.com 26.09.2019) it's bad news for chocolate lovers, researchers have found that contrary to an earlier report, eating dark chocolate will not improve  your vision.

 Some of the worst food for eye health are processed food that are heavy in sodium, sugar and unhealthy fats for instance a) Salty foods b) Sweets and c) Foods high in saturated or trans fats.

Adult vision: 41 to 60 years of age: (American Optometric Association)

Beginning in the early to mid-40s, many adults may start to have problems seeing clearly at close distances, especially when reading and working on the computer. This is among the most common problems adults develop between ages 41 to 60.

 As you reach 60s and beyond, you need to attentive to warning signs of age related eye health. Many eye diseases have no early symtoms. Therefore, regular eye exams are even more important as you reach your senior years.

Age related Eye and vision problems:

In the years after you turn 60, a number of eye diseases may develop that can change your vision permanently. The earlier these problems are detected and treated, the more likely you can retain good vision. The following are some vision disorders of which you should be aware:

1. Age related macular degeneration; (AMD) is an eye disease affecting the macula, the center of the light sensitive retina at the back of the eye, causing loss of central vision.

2. Diabetic retinopathy; It is a condition occurring in people with diabetes. It is the result of progressive damage to the tiny blood vessels that nourish the retina.

3. Retinal detachment; A detached retina is when the thin layer at the back of your eye (retina) becomes loose. It needs to be treated quickly to stop it permanently affecting your sight.

4. Cateracts; A cateract is the clouding of the lens of the eye which leads to a decrease in vision. Cateracts often develop slowly and can affect one or both eyes. Symptoms may include faded colors, blurry or double vision, halos around light, trouble with bright lights and trouble seeing at night.

5. Glaucoma; Glaucoma is a group of eye conditions that damage the optic nerve, the health of which is vital for good vision. This damage is often caused by an abnormally high pressure in your eye. Glaucoma is one of the leading causes of blindness for people over the age of 60.

6. Dry eye; Dry eye is a condition associated with inadequate tear production and marked by redness, itching and burning of the eye. - called dry eye syndrome.

  Causes of weak eyesight: Some of the most common causes of low vision include age-related macular degeneration, diabetes and glaucoma. Low vision may also result from disease of the eye, albinism, brain injury or inherited disorders of the eye including retinitis pigmentosa.

 Warning signs for eye problem;

Call your doctor if you experience any of the following changes in your eyes:

1. Change in iris colour.

2. Crossed eyes.

3. Dark spot in the center of your field of vision.

4. Difficulty focusing on near or distant objects.

5. Double vision.

6. Dry eyes with itching or burning.

7. Episodes of cloudy vision.

8. Excess discharge of tears.

 Rest your eyes and get enough sleep!

 Conclusion

Eyes are the light of your body so take special care. Eat the food which is good for the eyes and avoid fatty, sugary and processed food. Avoid rubbing your eyes too hard or too often.

 Take regular breaks by computer works and other tasks that mostly involve your eyes. Follow the 20-20-20 rule. Close your eyes for a few seconds from time to time and look away for a while.

 Wear your glasses and sunglasses for outdoors to protect your eyes. Get regular eye check-up at least once in a year and drink enough water.

In my opinion, your eyes are the best gifts of nature and taking care of them is your duty. Understand the importance of your eyes. Protect them, better your eyesight and improve your vision. To know the real value of your eyes is to imagine an existence without your eyes!

Seven finest exercises for you and me

😇

SEVEN FINEST EXERCISES FOR

 YOU AND ME 😇

                                                                   By J. Adil

 😢 LET YOUR FAT CRY 😢

"CONQUER FROM WITHIN"

 Exercise not only changes your body. It changes your mind, your attitude and your mood. (Pinterest)

 You never realize how long a minute is until you exercise.

                                   Most certainly, you are excited to discover my best exercises to be revealed.

I wish to introduce you to my thrice a week routine of exercises which keeps me fit and helps me to breath well and maintains me in a good posture and a healthy form.

Start your exercise with stretching or aerobics and end with the same!

1.) Streching exercise at the bigining; Arms and legs stretching for at least 7 minutes.

 Benefits; Stretching improves posture, range of motion and decreases back pain and provides you with an effective cardio warm-up and cool-down preparing and protecting your muscles in different ways.

 Besides, taking 5 to 10 minutes to stretch before and after your workout can give you the energy to exercise longer and recover properly afterwards.

2.) Cross trainer for 30 minutes at moderate speed burning at about 200 calories.

(Try 5-10 minutes on a low resistance first, gradually building up to 30 minutes.)

 Benefits; Due to its high-calorie burn ability, it can help you lose body fat and tone up your muscle in a shorter amount of time.

Elliptical machines provide low-impact aerobic activity, that‘s why they can be a good alternative to running or jogging for someone who has joint pain or arthritis.

Studies show low-impact cardio workouts can increase blood flow to knee cartilage and strengthen the muscles around the knee keeping your joints healthy.

3.) 20 Dumble - pushups in 15 minutes with a short interval.

   Benefits; According to Healthline; Pushups are considered one of the best all-around exercises.

They work muscles in your upper body and core while increasing your metabolic rate. You can still do pushups with shoulder arthritis.

Even weight lifting helps arthritis and eases joint pain and stiffness.

According to a recent research analysis published in the journal, Rheumatology suggests that strengthening the muscle groups around affected joints improved function and eased the pain in people with osteoarthritis.

4.) 30 Sit-ups or crunches for 15 minutes (nonstop or with a break).

Benefits; Both crunches and situps are common abdominal exercise for developing core strength.

Crunches isolate the muscles in your abdomen, sit-ups target multiple muscle groups including the hip flexors and muscle in your lower leg. Better balance and stability, increased flexibility, diaphragm strengthening and reduces the risk of back pain injury.

5.) 30 Back-workout exercise; lying with hands under your stomach lifting your face, chest, thighs and legs for a few seconds each time (non- stop or with a break) for 10 minutes.

 Benifits; exercises. According to „The Nest“ (woman.thenest.com) Most exercises that are performed while lying on your stomach are considered core exercises.

 It means that, although they will isolate the muscles of the lower back, they will also strengthen the opposing muscles – the abdominals. Over time, you‘ll see and feel a difference in ab strength.

6.) 5 to 7 minutes of deep breathing exercise;

Sitting relaxed in a comfortable position with closed eyes and focusing your attention on your breath, the inhale and exhale. As reported by (mindful.org).

A deep inhale through your nostrils for 3 seconds, hold your breath for 2 seconds and a long exhale through your mouth (4 seconds).

Benefits; Regular breathing exercise will help you overcome your stress, anxiety and negative emotions, reducing your temper and sharpening your concentration. It also increases oxygen in blood and keeps the lungs strong. Breathing exercises keeps mind and body calm.

7.) Stretching or aerobics exercise at the end; Arms and legs stretching for at least 7 minutes again.

 Stretching exercise will Cool-down relaxing and protecting your muscles in different ways gaining flexibility.

 The total time taken for the seven of my exercises is hardly 90 minutes which I do three times a week to keep myself fit and lively.

You can perform these exercises or other exercises according to your health conditions.

CONCLUSION

The bottom line is exercise helps you lose weight, lower the risk of diseases including obesity, diabetes and high blood pressure etc. Regular exercise promotes better sleep, better digestion and helps your cardiovascular system work more efficiently.

Sweating for you while exercising is good because sweat glands help our skin filter toxins out of the body and improve our immune system.

And we sent down in the Quran such things that have healing and mercy for the belivers. (QURAN al-Isra, 17:82)There issues from within the bodies of the bee a drink of varying colors wherein is healing for mankind. (QURAN an-Nahl, 16:69)And when I am ill, it is (God) who cures me. (QURAN Ash-Shu'ara, 26:80)

Heal me, O Lord, and I will be healed; save me I will be saved , for you are the one I praise. (BIBLE Jeremiah 17;14)  See now that I myself am he! There is no God besides me. I put to death and I bring to life, I have wounded and I will heal, and no one can deliver out of my hand. (BIBLE Deuteronomy 32:29)

 In my opinion, any exercise of sweating is better for your health as long as your health conditions permits. A balanced diet with fruits and vegetables reducing fats and oils, proper intake of water with regular intervals and fresh air for your lungs, heart, brain, blood and all the organs of your body will keep the doctors away.

 Besides that, a good laugh, a good sleep with little stress, fewer worries with no anger will bring a feather in your cap.

Water: the healing source of nature

🌏WATER: THE HEALING SOURCE OF NATURE  By J.Adil

  If there is magic on this planet, it is contained in water.

 (Loren Eiseley USA)

Thousands have lived without love, not one without water.

 (W.H. Auden U.K)

  According to the International Journal of Water

 Resources Development;

Earth is the only planet in the solar system where liquid water makes life possible. The other planets

are either too hot (like Venus) or too cold (like Mars).

Another word for water is AQUA (H2O)

Water refers to a chemical substance consisting of two hydrogen atoms bound to the central oxygen atom via a covalent bond.

The scientific and biological definition of water;

A substance composed of the chemical elements hydrogen and oxygen and existing in gaseous, liquid and solid states. It is one of the most plentiful and essential compounds. A tasteless and odourless liquid at room temperature, it has the ability to dissolve many substances.

 And we have created from water every living thing. Will they not then believe?

                                                                                                                   (Quran Al-Anbiya)

   According to healthline.com (Sanfrancisco USA); Water makes up a majority of your body weight and is involved in many important functions, for instance, flushing out waste from your body, regulating body temperature and helping your brain function.

 You get most of your water from drinking beverages, but food also contributes a small amount to your daily water intake.

And it is he who has let free the two seas (kinds of water): this is palatable and sweet, and that is salted and bitter; and he has set a barrier between them.

                               (Quran- Surah Al-Furqan, chapter 25, verse 53)

For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour out my spirit on your offspring, and my blessing on your desendents.

                                                        (Bible-Isaiah 44:3)

Water in many ways improves your well-being:

1) Water helps create saliva;

Saliva also includes small amounts of electrolytes, mucus and enzymes. It´s essential for breaking down solid food and keeping your mouth healthy. If your mouth is dry in spite of increasing your water intake then see your doctor.

2) Water regulates your body temperature;

Your body loses water through sweat during physical activity and in hot environments. Your sweat keeps your body cool but your body temperature will rise if you don´t replenish the water you lose.

Your body loses electrolytes and plasma when it´s dehydrated. If you are sweating more than usual, make sure you drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration.

3) Water protects your tissues, spinal cord and joints;

It helps lubricate and cushion your joints, spinal cord and tissues. This will help you enjoy physical activity and lessen the discomfort caused by conditions like arthritis.

4)Water helps excrete waste through perspiration, urination and defection;

Your body uses water to sweat, urinate and have bowel movements. Sweat regulates body temperature when you are exercising or in warm temperatures. You need water to fill up the lost fluid from sweat. You also need enough water in your system to have a healthy stool and avoid constipation.Your kidneys are also important for filtering out waste through urination. Adequate water intake helps your kidneys work more efficiently and helps to prevent kidney stones.

5) Water helps maximize physical performance;

Drinking plenty of water during physical activity is essential. Athletes may perspire up to 6 to 10 percent of body weight during physical activity. Hydration also affects your strength, power and endurance. Negative effects of exercise in the heat without enough water can include serious medical conditions, like decreased blood pressure and hyperthermia. Extreme dehydration can cause seizures and even death.

6) Water helps prevent constipation;

Eating fibre isn´t the only way to prevent constipation. It is also important to maintain your water intake so your bowel movements contain enough water. If you don´t consume enough water, magnesium and fibre, you may be more likely to experience constipation. If you are already constipated, you may find that drinking carbonated water as well as plain water can help ease your symptoms.

 7) Water aids in digestion;

Experts confirm drinking water before, during and after a meal will help your body break down the food you eat more easily. This will help you digest food more effectively and get the most out of your meals. Research shows the body adapts to changes in the consistency of food and stomach contents, whether more solid or more liquid.

  8) Water helps with nutrient absorption;

In addition to helping with food breakdown, water also helps dissolve vitamins, minerals and other nutrients from your food. It then delivers     these vitamin components to the rest of your body for use.

 9)Water helps you lose weight;

Studies have linked body fat and weight loss with drinking water in both overweight girls and women. Drinking more water while dieting and exercising may just help you lose extra pounds.

10) Water improves blood oxygen circulation;

How much should you drink?

Being attentive to the amount of water you drink each day is important for optimal health. Most people drink when they are thirsty, which helps regulate daily water intake.

According to the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine, general water intake (from all beverages and foods) that meet most people´s needs are:

a) about 15.5 cups of water (125 ounces) each day for men.

b) about 11.5 cups (91 ounces) daily for women.

Other ways to assess hydration include your thirst and the colour of your urine. Feeling thirsty indicates your body is not receiving adequate hydration. Urine that is dark or coloured indicates dehydration. Pale or non-coloured urine typically indicates proper hydration.

 The bottom line is that water is important to nearly every part of your body. Your daily recommended intake of water helps you maintain your current state of being but also may improve your overall health.

The importance of hydration for your heart;

According to the Heart and Vascular Institute (UPMC/health beat), you must keep your body hydrated. Proper hydration is not only good for your brain, your mood, and your body weight, but it´s also essential for your heart.

Your heart is constantly working, pumping about 2,000 gallons of blood a day. By staying hydrated- i.e. drinking more water than you are losing – you are helping your heart do its job.

A hydrated heart is able to pump blood more easily, allowing the muscles in your body to work even better.

What you need to know is dehydration causes strain on your heart. The amount of blood circulating through your body, or blood volume, decreases when you are dehydrated. To compensate, your heart beats faster, increasing your heart rate and causing you to feel palpitations.

Also, your blood retains more sodium, making it tougher for it to circulate through your body.

Like cold water to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country.

                                                                                              (Bible-Proverbs 25:25)

So how much water should you drink to stay hydrated? It really depends on how much your body needs. Some situations where you should drink more water include for example;

  a) If you are exercising or doing other physical activities.

b) If you have certain medical conditions, such as diabetes or heart disease.

c) If you are showing signs of dehydration, such as dizziness or weakness.

 Please also keep in mind that certain medical conditions (such as heart failure) may require varying hydration strategies and consult

 with your physician as required.

Water is the most important resource. It is essential for the life of every existing living being and living creature on earth. Furthermore conserving water is extremely important because it keeps water pure and clean while protecting the environment.
